Many people get caught in the cycle of setting goals. They make big plans to achieve them, but after a short time, end up right back where they started.
The issue isn’t the goal. It is that what people should be setting are visions.
There is a very big difference between the two!
A vision or a dream is that final destination, that big picture, the dream result that moves you and inspires you to grow. It is what moves you from being stuck and it pulls you towards it with just the dream of acquiring it.
Goals are the stepping stones that take you to your vision.
You want to set goals that lead you to a vision.
Many people set goals, but they don’t have a vision. It’s like they don’t know where they want to end up, they just make up a path as they move along in life. There is no destination.
It’s like you are planning a trip to drive across the country. Your point A is the city in your home, where you are in now, and Point B is the city you want to get to, your destination. The stops that you will make along the way, where you will spend the night and rest, are the markers on your journey. Each day you will drive to each selected spot that you have marked. You have now plotted your course. When you are done, you have clear goals of what city you want to get to each day.
When you plot your course this way, you have a clearer path. There is no deviation from the map. You know what the next stop is on your journey. Your aim, or your goal, is to get to that next stop. It is an incremental step towards your vision.
If you follow each step, you get to your destination faster and in a methodical manner.
This is the same process for you and your vision. You are plotting your course to your vision.
The goals are the path that you are clearing so that you have a direct link from point A to point B.
The vision and the goals work in unison. They carry each other.
Your goals move you to your vision.
They are the laid-out route for you to take on your journey to results achievement. Your vision.
Your vision moves you through your goals.
It is what is going to keep you motivated and give you the positive energy you need to complete the goals, especially when you hit an obstacle.
When you have a well-planned map, each stop will get you closer to your destination.
And should you run into some detours, some road blocks, your faith and trust in your vision will carry you through.
